Sunrise at Temple

The Temple of Science at the GMG sim has officially opened. The build does look a bit like a temple, but it's not a house of worship. Rather, it presents interesting scientists and concepts in an unexpected way. As you would expect in a museum, there are exhibits with informational placards, but the unique part of the exhibits are the links to video and webpages with more in-depth articles. Even for a fairly unscientific person, the exhibits offer an interesting perspective for learning about science.

The video for Newton is called Isaac Newton: Space Pioneer. Only 10 minutes long, it is just long enough to pique your interest in his life and how he has influenced our lives today. Other scientists presented include Einstein, William Jones (of Pi fame) and Galileo. What is an H4 clock? How was time tracked 600 years ago? These are a couple of questions you'll find the answers to at the Temple.

Temple of Science

Here is the challenge of the Temple:

"Let this temple be the place where the devotion to the act of science is honored. Hail to the people in the past and present who search, pursue and have sleepless nights over an idea....Search, be curious and find better solutions for humanity; it's the best goal you can have!"
