Heather Darkthorn, a customer, browsed the houses. She stated that her friend had bought a castle and a house from Mandy's. Word of mouth is how she found Mandy's.
When asked what her inspiration is for a new project, Mandy explained, "The people in SL are always my inspiration to any project. I like to talk to people and listen to them, finding out what they like and don't like. Combined with what I think will be functional or will look nice, I try to put something together."
Having no construction or architectural experience in real life has been no barrior, of course, to her learning the building trade in SL. She does have some very applicable attributes that assisted her like perfectionism, organization, thoroughness and customer service abilities.
There is an excellent variety of buildings, from small to large. There are castles, cottages, lighthouses, gazebos and others in many different styles. The textures and details are exquisite.
Her business is successful from an onlooker's perspective, with a very large "store." She measures success, however, by whether she has met her goals of low cost, low prim count and highest quality possible. She wants the customer to feel he has received a good value, as well. To that end, she will work with a customer if he feels he has not received a good value. She provides documentation and guides within the homes to make set up as simple as possible and the use of the home enjoyable.

Mandy is most proud of the home rezzers that she built from scratch and uses at her shop location to demo and sell the various homes and buildings. This is an enticement, as you can rez the house in front of you and go inside. You can tour the entire building before you buy.
What does she do for fun? "I am somewhat of a shopaholic and like to buy clothes, shoes, hair and especially skins! After shopping, I do like to explore SL and particularly like to hang out at the wonderful beaches in SL," she related.
